Who would have thought that Halloween was over 2,000 years old? Growing up, I thought it was just all about candy! Now, it is all about scary movies, costumes, sweets, and partying for the adults! I would have never thought it was a pagan religious festival called the Samhain. That originated from an ancient Celtic spiritual tradition of bonfires, costumes, feasts, and honoring those who have passed on. They believed the veil between the living and dead on Halloween became thin enough for their ghost to return, so they wore costumes to ward off spirits.
