The Human Race!

Updated: Jan 24

To me, human evolution is a captivating yet intricate story that has been beautifully unfolding for millions of years. Despite its beauty and power, most of the world is unaware of our true shared heritage or how we evolved into the Homosapien species. If you ask me, that is how the hierarchy of race was formed. When most of the world is ignorant or doesn't remember the past authentically, it can be rewritten to manipulate and condition the masses into believing certain narratives.

I have always appreciated the arts, literature, and history. My favorite time period was the Middle Ages. However, since I began researching for this section, I have recently become highly interested in our evolution in general within every period. Initially, I aimed to combine my love for writing and history while focusing primarily on black history, as our history has been constantly rewritten, destroyed, or lost over the centuries.

We also do not have too many publications that cater to informing the public about black history before slavery. I wanted to change that and figured the best place to start would be at the beginning. However, as I began understanding human evolution, I realized that the first Homospecies' were of color. I will not dig too deep into this article, but I'll briefly summarize it.

In Africa, human evolution began with an ape/human-like primate called the Australopithecus afarensis, approximately between 3.9-2.9 mya. Then, our most prominent ancestors were the Homo habilis, who lived around 2.4-1.5 mya. The Homo erectus soon followed about 1.8 mya to 110,000 years ago. And guess what? They were all dark-complected.

It was not until some of the Homoerectus began migrating north past the equator, where there was less sun, that their skin lightened. This caused their bodies to absorb more UV light, damaging their melanin and changing their DNA forever. Afterward, the Homo-Neanderthalensis and Denisovans that evolved north near Europe and Asia around 430,000-40,000 years ago also became light-complected.

Yet, our ancestors who remained in Africa and evolved into the Homosapien lineage approximately 300,000 years ago were of color. We were all given melanin to protect ourselves from the sun. It was not until they started migrating north roughly around 100,000 years ago that the Homosapiens developed lighter skin, in the same way as our ancestors did. Now, this was not done overnight. It took thousands of years before either group started losing their melanin.

Nevertheless, I will not label this section as being dedicated to primarily black history as if it were separate. This section will be devoted to the human race and our world history— in other words, "Life Itself" because we all derived from a melanin womb. We are just different shades. Trust me when I state that I understand why we've had to separate, highlight, and preserve our black history. But we only further the divide, and ultimately, we fall prey to precisely what they intended: to keep us divided.

They did not want us to unite and view each other as one. They did not want people of color to know their MELANIN was a part of this world's creation. They did not want people of color to see that they were carrying the color of our ancestors! They did not want us to know that we were ALL people of color. If we did, how would the white race obtain their privilege? Remember, for a superior race (shade) to arise, you must control the narrative for one to exist with the privilege to divide the masses. Sound familiar?

NOTE: Get ready, and buckle your seats because we are about to learn our real history.
